OVAs 2017 - Finalists Announced!

Covering 14 categories of drama, comedy and non fiction content, the OVAs, principally funded by Screen Queensland, are the premiere awards for Australian online content.

Over 200 entries from content creators all over Australia have been narrowed down to a finals list that includes favourites with audiences in the millions such The Katering Show and newcomers such as indigenous creators of Our Place from Alice Springs.

ABC iView has a strong showing in this year’s awards, with five nominations in various categories

The winners will be announced at the Brisbane Powerhouse on May 18th, hosted by comedian DamienPower.

COMEDY


Aunty Donna: 1999

Taking place in the high-rise, ‘modern’ city office of Australia’s largest corporation, this outrageous sketch series loosely follows a professional business on the eve of the dreaded and unfathomable Y2K, in the way Aunty Donna do it best: a descent into pure madness.

A gritty black comedy, set in an ordinary Aussie share-house that just happens to be a prison tent in Sydney Cove, 1788.


Dafuq?

DAFUQ? is a satirical mockumentary series following three smug and earnest young reporters, as they investigate contemporary issues not covered by the mainstream media.



Fragments of Friday

Fragments of Friday follows the friendship of 20-somethings as they herald the arrival of the weekend, only to spend the rest of it wondering what happened. Fragments of Friday is a comedy about piecing together the night before with your best mates at your side.




Leftovers

Leftovers is an ongoing comedic sketch series exploring themes of contemporary life for young Australians. Based off the lives and experiences of its two stars and creators, Leftovers finds the satirical in the mundane lives of young people.


The Katering Show Series 2

Food intolerant, Kate McCartney and her intolerable smug foodie co-host, Kate McLennan, return with a fresh picked season of their YouTube hit The Katering Show.

The Wizards of Aus

No Pink Cowboys

No Pink Cowboys is a six part comedic web series that follows housemates AB and Sam as they fumble their way through adulthood.
